ABOUT

Nonprofit Organization for Educators

The Lorenza Y Robinson Foundation was established by James E. Robinson IV in 2007. It marks the 80th birthday of his mother, and the foundation serves as a legacy of Mrs. Robinson.

During Mrs. Robinson’s time, Catholic nuns from various teaching orders held most of the teaching slots in Catholic schools.

Our foundation is dedicated to giving financial support to educators of parochial schools nationwide. Through our efforts, we intend to contribute to enhancing the skill sets of teachers and improving the educational environment of Catholic schools. Each grant helps ensure ongoing support and professional assistance to children’s educators in parochial schools.

Our Mission

To provide educators from historically black colleges with financial incentives so they can teach in Catholic schools previously manned by the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament

Our Concept

The number of Catholic schools in the U.S. has declined in the past 20 years. Similarly, the number of teaching orders has dramatically decreased over the last two decades.

The social and economic benefits that we can get from parochial schools are immeasurable. Not only does a Catholic school education enforce positive Christian values to young people in the cities, but it also alleviates the stress in the public school system as well.

The concept of The Lorenza Y Robinson Foundation is to assist educators who serve in the parochial schools in the U.S. in their graduate education. Our foundation offers fellowship opportunities to those who teach in Catholic schools. This way, we can motivate the diverse, dedicated, and highly qualified educators of our country.
